About

a little about me

and how I can help you

i’m you…
in ten years

Finding a photographer is easy. We’re all a pretty talented bunch and we know our way around cameras.

Finding a photographer that knows which photos you will yearn after in years from now … well, that’s harder. Because you need someone who has already lived what you are living now.

I’m a mom of two teens. I have lived through sleep deprivation (me) and potty training (them) and temper tantrums (all of us).

And I’m here now telling you how much you will miss that one day. You will long for a sticky hand slipping into yours. You’ll wish for baby yawns, and missing front teeth, and that little wayward curl.

Because I already know what you will miss, I will catch those memories for you. You will love your photos today. But you will run into a burning building for them in years to come.

Trust me.

why we are a good fit

i understand you

Your family will NEVER look like this again. Your child will NEVER be this age again. Let that sink in. So let me nudge you past the hesitation about your extra weight, the big investment, your wild children, your partner’s busy schedule … whatever is holding you back from freezing this moment before it disappears forever. Take that step with me.

i’ve got your back

Yes, a photo session can be a stress-free experience (gasp!). I will hold your hand every step of the way. From initial consultation, to session planning, to wardrobe selection and location scouting, all the way through to figuring out how to best display your gorgeous images (and designing the album for you!) … just leave it all up to me.

i know what i’m doing

I have seen it all. I’ve been pooped on and puked on, dealt with tantrums (from kids and dads), been bitten (by mosquitoes and one-year olds) … and still we got gorgeous photos. Really, no big deal. So relax, we will roll with whatever the session throws at us. And have a good chuckle about it afterwards. I’ve got this.

a few of my favourite things

  • FOOD: Hokey Pokey from Rocky Point Ice Cream. And baked mac ‘n cheese.
  • DRINK: Wine, Gin and Rooibos Tea
  • ANIMAL: Llamas and cats (I like animals with attitude)
  • PLACE I’VE TRAVELLED: Northern Thailand and rural Cuba
  • TV SHOW: Ted Lasso or any current snotfest
  • VACATION: Hawaii. But really, anywhere seaside.
  • HOBBY: 1000-piece puzzles

bet you didn’t know

  • I used to be an accountant, and it killed my soul slowly. Kids, just because you’re good at math, doesn’t mean you have to make career of it!
  • I grew up in South Africa, surrounded by The Big Five, so I’m really ‘meh’ about the idyllic dream of a sunset safari in Africa that most Canadians have.
  • My husband’s nickname for me is “Chicken”. Not sure why he relates me to a short, stout, flightless bird, but he’ll shout it across 6 checkout lines at Costco to get my attention.
