Nothing says Canadian toddler more than a lumberjack cake smash, right???
Well, Mom gave me the challenge to put together a lumberjack theme for little Jack that was about to turn one. I absolutely adore natural setups with earthy, more neutral colours, so I loved the entire planning process for this shoot.
Jack wore the most adorable red plaid shirt from Joe Fresh that just added the right amount of pop and authenticity to the theme. And he wasn’t just going to sit there, either … he had such a fun time closely inspecting everything from the pine cones to the tree to the lantern and everything in between. As he was smiling from ear to ear about all his little discoveries, this one was one happy photographer!
After a few more poses of the little heart breaker, it was time for the big moment: the cake smash!
Jack’s creative log cake was made by Take The Cake, a local mama’s company, and it couldn’t have fitted the theme any better. Be sure to check out Tina’s designs!
Like most kids, he started of with just a little taste, tentatively dragging a cute finger through the chocolate frosting. Well, that obviously met with his approval and before we knew it, he had both hands buried in the cake. At this stage most kids just focus on the cake and their expressions turn serious, but little Jack just kept on flashing smile after smile at us. What a delight he must be to his parents! Thanks Jack for making my job such a pleasure!
Whether you want a lumberjack cake smash or a sparkling princess cake smash, or anything in between, I will custom-design a theme just for you!
