Let’s get booked

I’m sure you have a bunch of questions about how and why these school photos are different – ask away! I walk you through all the steps and options, and after a visit to your school to meet and talk logistics, we put the date(s) on the calendar. Most schools book 6-12 months in advance.

02.

Get ready

I can take all the admin and communication with parents off your plate (if you wish). I make sure that we have a solid plan for photo day, and I provide parents with an extensive preparation guide that will answer all the questions about photo day, what to wear, how to order, etc.

03.

It’s Photo Day!

After a quick setup, I start capturing the real smiles and real personalities of these little humans. I take the time with each child to make their personalities shine. Expect to hear lots of giggles and funny noises! We also take class photos, and teacher photos on the day.

04.

Ordering opens

About 1-2 weeks after photo day, each parent receives access to their unique, password-protected online gallery. Here they will find 5-10 photos of their child, with a variety of expressions to choose from. Parents can order digital files, prints and wall art, right from their gallery. They have 1 week to order.

05.

Product delivery

While digital files are delivered immediately after ordering, prints and wall art will be delivered to your school about 2 weeks after ordering closes. It is such a joy to see these smiling faces in print and know these photos will be filling frames on desks and walls soon!

Session debrief

I provide a personal, customized experience for every school and I’m always striving to make this a seamless, stress-free experience with your Vancouver school photographer. After every photo day, we sit down and discuss what went well, and what we could change to make things even easier easier next year.

Yes! Every year in October and November, I host a few days of modern school mini-sessions at my studio. All kids are welcome, so if your school doesn’t offer photos, or you’re not happy with the ones that were taken, you have the chance to have these fine art portraits for your children. Hop onto my mailing list here, and you will have first dibs as soon as sessions become available.

I would love to add your school to my calendar! Please contact your principal and tell them that this is the type of school photos you want to buy. You can point them to this page as a starting point, and ask them to get in touch with me (or let me know and I will get in touch). If a school books a photo day after your recommendation, you can expect a $100 gift card from me to say thank you!

Although I’m open to working with smaller speciality schools, my focus is mainly on preschools and daycares, as the public school system doesn’t usually allow the amount of time I would need to photograph a large number of kids in such an authentic way.

Vancouverites are known for our organic lifestyle, embracing that which is real and unprocessed and authentic. Parents love to see portraits of their children that echo the same values – no forced “say cheese” grins here, just loads of personality! Parents also love the choice of not just 1 or 2 stiff poses, but a full gallery filled to the brim with a variety of expressions. In addition, I also take sibling images, a service not often offered by traditional school photographers. Parents know how special it is to have all their kids in one sweet (or silly!) photo.

One of the biggest perks of hiring me as your Vancouver school photographer is that I take all the busy work out of the hands of schools, by handling all communication with parents, including preparation, ordering, and customer service. Schools love being able to offer this boutique experience as a perk to their parent community. Because I take on only a few, select schools every year, I can provide a custom and personalized service to each school, and produce superior artistic images.

In addition, 10% of all gross profits are donated directly back to your school!

No school needs more paper floating around! The entire ordering process happens online, via password-protected online ordering galleries. We are also putting the power of choice back in the parents’ hands. At least 5 images (usually more), in both colour and black-and-white, will be posted in each child’s gallery, allowing parents to choose the photos they want printed. Images can be ordered as digital negatives, in a variety of a-la-carte style print sizes, or in money-saving collections at different price levels. Boutique wall products such as canvas gallery wraps are also available.

Not at all! Rates are very competitive, and right in line with what parents can expect to pay for traditional school photographs. I offer a variety of collections at different price points, as well as a-la-carte ordering options.

Best of all, there is no cost to the school – in fact, as a sign of appreciation for working with me, I donate 10% of the gross profit right back to every school I photograph!

The pandemic has certainly taught the average Vancouver school photographer how to offer sessions that check all the safety boxes! It goes without saying that the health and safety of both my family and every one of your students is front and center in my mind at all times. I will be rescheduling your session if anyone in my household has displayed any symptoms related to the flu within 7 days of your session, and I rely on the school’s own safety protocols to ensure that everyone present at the school on photo day is healthy. I also practice very strict hand hygiene, sanitizing my hands after every child.
